Annette and Ray on the last day |
If you have lived in Bodrum for a while you will know Annette Hanisch; she has been solving the foreign community's problems for decades. Way back in the 1990s, she helped those of us whose Turkish wasn't so good, communicate with the medical team at the first private hospital in Bodrum and liaise with our insurance companies. In 2004 she set up her own translating company in Bodrum as a translator fluent in German, English, French and Turkish. In 2009 she moved to the office we all know in Türkkuyusu Cad, and on Friday she saw her last client in this office (captured on camera above).
Luckily she is not moving far and will still be on hand to steer newcomers through the hoops of applying for a residence permit and help old-timers get their long term, permanent residency and everything in between that needs a visit to the notary. I'm sure she will also fit in all the literary translations and magazine articles that she's been writing over the years.
Her new address is Eski Türk Sokak, No 16. You'll know you are there when you see this archway.
