Away from Bodrum

From my hideaway in the Highlands, I see that the terrestrial  media has belatedly caught up with the turmoil at home, which gives me an overview of the troubles but will someone please tell Jon Snow  how to pronounce the prime minister of Turkey's name.  I'm hoping the televised apology by the deputy prime minister for excessive use of force will go some way to calm the situation but I'm not holding my breath for a similar statement from his immediate superior.  Meanwhile life back in the village is unaffected and Jake and my husband have been entertained by the arrival of our very old friends Kath and Dave who have driven the scenic route from the UK to our garden.  Kath has been charting their progress over the past 6 months (it was the very scenic route) through snow and sun to arrive chez-nous, and if you click on this link http://daveandkath.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/milestones.html not only will you see that, despite the troubles, holidaying in Turkey can still be a peaceful prospect, but you will also get a great picture of Jake with his new summer haircut.
I fly back to Bodrum via Istanbul on Sunday and  am very much looking forward to joining them.

    1. Thank you - I think I need a bit more practice on the dog trimming front. We are lucky he is so patient.

    1. Thanks, I miss him. I've done a bit of walking in the hills but it's not much fun as a solitary occupation.

  8. Jake looks gorgeous. I cut Darwin's hair myself and it's not good.
Hope you've had a good time in Scotland. Such a shame about the situation in Turkey - it doesn't look like there'll be much of a solution soon.

  10. Dear Annie, I've been away from posting and also from reading and commenting on the 65 blogs I follow and so I've missed your whole trip to Scotland. I hope it was a good one for you, despite your being away from Turkey/home when turmoil erupted in the streets. Here in the States we got some information about what was happening, but really our television and newspapers spend little time reporting what's happening beyond our borders. We get none of the nuance.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving your comments. I appreciate hearing from you as I value your perspective on life. Peace.
